Meet the Coach:
Welcome!
I’m Jamilah Stanfield, a Transitional Life and Life Skills Coach. As the creator of Lilies and Sparrows Life Coaching, one of the clear purposes of my life is to help encourage others to feel empowered. My professional path began with earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology (2003) and then completing a Master of Science degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from San Diego State University (2006). Over the years I’ve served in many roles, to include working as an associate marriage and family therapist, wellness coach, and peer mentor with T.A.P.S. (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors of Service-members). Through each of my professional experiences, one thing has remained constant: my commitment to helping others navigate life’s transitions with clarity and compassion.
Whether I’m helping clients reach meaningful aspirations or if I’m partnering with them to develop a Transitional Life Plan, my work is grounded in the commitment to empower clients with the insight, tools, and confidence needed to accomplish their goals. It’s incredibly important for me to make sure that clients feel supported, capable, and confident in their personal journeys—and, it’s always an honor to be trusted to be a part of their journeys.
What is a Transitional Life Plan?
A Transitional Life Coach guides individuals through various changes in their lives. One of the types of transitional life coaching that I specialize in involves life’s most significant transition: planning for one’s own “Final Farewell” (also referred to as a funeral or celebration of life). I refer to this actual service that I offer as a “Transitional Life Plan.” Regardless of one’s age or health status, having a Transitional Life Plan (TLP) is beneficial for the person AND for their loved ones, especially when formally created with a Life Coach. This type of coaching helps you make intentional choices about your final farewell so that your wishes, values, and legacy are known to the people you cherish most. When TLPs are created, you’re making sure that your loved ones are supported in making memorial/logical decisions, and you’re also specifically sharing how you’d like your life to be honored. It’s not just about logistics, it’s also about creating peace of mind, meaning, and empowerment for both you and those you care about.
As a Transitional Life Coach, I guide people in creating a plan for their eventual, UNKOWN DATE of passing that reflects their values, story, and legacy.
NOTE: I, Jamilah Stanfield, do not assist anyone in making any plans for “specific dates” OR “intentions” of transitioning (i.e., suicide). Transitional Life Plans are ONLY meant for UNKNOWN DATES of transitioning.
